Don’t forget that the estimates you get from your contractor are just that…estimates. Until you start tearing everything out you just never know what kinds of problems are just waiting there for you. Be prepared to spend more than you planned.

Make sure you don’t forget to call your electrician if you are rewiring any power points in the bathroom. Water and electricity don’t mix well, so it’s best to get a professional to help you out.

I would like to suggest that anyone planning a bathroom remodel also consider the benefits of eco-friendly bathroom design in their project. The American Water Works Association has produced some remarkable stats re average bathroom water usage per person per day, and the savings that can be had from installing a low flush toilet and low flow shower head. And as well as bringing environmental benefits, this may translate into reduced fuel bills for some homeowners in the long run.

I’d suggest you do a Google(Remodel Your Bathroom + wordpress + “Top Commenters”) search, but I think I’m the only one presenting the whole industry at this time. I think eBay banned me but I will post other sources as soon as I get the time to do so. Stay tuned, bathrooms are the most expensive room in every house and consequently they are a real gold mine.
